To be accepted on our vintage traders list you MUST supply us with recent stock pictures or links to your website or social media business pages. We are unable to accept applications without these. Please note that we do limit the amount of handmade stalls so as not to saturate a particular area.
The term vintage is used to describe clothing produced between 20 and 100 years ago, which is clearly representative of the era in which it was made. Vintage clothing can be used, new, manufactured or handmade. It is important to understand that the definition of vintage is fluid, so every decade brings forth new items as vintage.
Here at The Vintage Suitcase we love our vintage clothing and we want you guys to love the clothes that our vintage traders bring. So we work hard to find vintage traders that source only the highest quality pieces yet still represent great value for money. We also try to bring a wide cross section of vintage traders to give you the biggest and best variety all under one roof.
Along side our true vintage traders, you’ll find high quality retro and reproduction clothing too. Usually made from vintage patterns or made to imitate a certain style, these traders offer a more bespoke approach to the vintage style and will usually accept commissions and orders based on your own designs. Don’t be afraid to ask if you can’t see an item in your size or style!
Using vintage pieces to furnish and decorate your home is one of the easiest ways of updating your home to represent your own unique style. Imagine having a home furnished with items you just know won’t be found next door at your neighbour’s house. It can often be cheaper to source high quality vintage furniture than to buy new, and you’re also helping the environment by saving items from landfills. It really is a ‘Win – Win’ situation!
From sideboards to tables and chairs, cocktail cabinets to occasional tables you can guarantee that the quality of items found at our fairs is always exceptional. Most often, items are sold in a restored, usable condition but you can also pick up pieces to be re-worked & upcycled into that quirky home project you’ve always dreamed of doing. When it comes to the quirky décor for your abode we’ve got that sorted too. Kitsch ornaments, brightly coloured glassware, decorative china, iconic prints or those hard to find West German pieces…we have it all!
Sitting along side our true vintage traders you’ll find lots of fabulous handmade traders offering unique vintage inspired designs.
Many of these designers use original vintage fabrics or upcycle older items breathing new life into them to be used again.
You’ll find cushions, soft furnishings, bunting even handmade clothing for children all with a retro feel. Again, these traders will often accept commissions and would love to create something bespoke from your ideas or designs.
